member of the recent junior prom committee noonan junior in the medical school is editor of tho professional school journal the medentlau he is also u member of the bison head men's honorary society obletz is president of the business administration class of 1939 sports editor of the bee aud double numeral - winner on last year's freshman football and tennis squads george l morse bus ad 38 len sobie pharmacy 38 and wal ter brock law 38 comprise the candidates for the first vice-presl dency morse has served on the athletic council and was mana ger of the 1936 varsity football squad sobie is a two-time winner of the block b in football and is also a member of the block b club brock served as manager of the 1935 varsity football team he al so is a block b member colgate favored over bulls bisons face strong opposition in attempt for second victory lose to hobart after second half rally face power ful colgate squad tonight the university ot buffalo ban ketball team will have its work cut out tonight when they meet colgate university in the elmwooil music hall in their ninth attempt to reach victory number two tho bulls quest for the second victory of the year has been frustrated a 20-17 in the closing period the colgate squad coached by john galoway former red raider star was defeated last week by a strong syracuse team by the mar gin of four points the invaders masquers will ballads during the convoca tion in the morning mr spicer is a national broadcasting company artist and has a considerable repu tation in this country and england before coming to america mr spicer had griffith and yorke lucci take leads in the artist a comic convocation program was featured in the one-act play the artist presented by two members of the blue masquers on last wednesday the artist written by a a milne concerns a somewhat fickle young lady who has written a let ter telling her fiance that she is marrying someone else and who a short time later received a tele gram that the man she was to have married has contracted that very unromantlc disease the mumpß she goes to the home of her fiance to retrieve her letter and there meets the hero an architect who has rented her fiance's house while there moreover she re ceives a letter telling her that her erstwhile fiancee has eloped with another girl and so the heroine de cides to marry the hero — all of which sounds somewhat compli cated but really makes a very en tertaining comedy the two characters in the play were portrayed by yorke lucci and and sally lou griffith who is a new and obviously a talentad fig ure on our stage immediately preceding the play miss anne reynolds made a num ber of announcements including a plea for persons to try out for the band which is being reorganized this semester formal dance for birthday stags likewise to be banned at norton's third anniversary in keeping with the importance of the event the third anniversary dance to be held at norton hall friday february 26 will the bison head or ganization preference aa sponsor of the moving up day dance the national student federation report was presented to the board by bob sanborn a committee com posed of robert parke dorothea btnrgosi alvin small allen hen derson and evelyn robinson was delegated to consider the report in regards to application ot sugges tions to norton union bison head taps nine junior men virginia whiting selected as prom queen at an nual affair the bison head senior men's honorary society tapped nine new members at the junior prom held in hotel statler last week the society was formed fifteen years ago with the purpose of in teresting the student body in the extra-curricular activities of the university of buffalo each year the bison head invites approxi mately ten junior students who have been especially active in ex tra-curricular work to become members of the organization the bison head will sponsor the moving-up day dance bud pear son is making arrangements for a dinner to be held in honor of the members during tho first week in march a dance committee will be appointed at the dinner glee club sets home concert date dates have been set for other concerts with the annual home concert definitely on april 9 the clubs are again entering the con test in which they won becond prize last year the contest will be held at state teachers college on april 16 of this year ithaca
