society hears mr horning speak on human body february 13 1929 a bright snappy winter day saw the blackstone legal society out in full force to greet mr horning corporation teacher and member of the new york bar our speaker president hervey introduced the lecturer who spoke informally and in a conversational tone on a subject far afield from the law to wit the human body the title of a book written by dr clendening which pre sented problems on which most law yers are more or less ignorant the discourse was very humorous entertaining instructive and interest ing the author exploded some com mon medical opinions of laymen such as lengthenera of life those who attended now realize that if they are not hit by a ford do not drink alco hol cat salt or red meat they have a chance to live to an old age now that we know that baldness is hereditary we can take mr horn ing's advise as to the means of sub jecting our progeny to such ignominy we matriculates of the gutter are well versed on the master joke of the universe and now realize that we are none the worse therefore it seemed rather humorous for seri ous law students weighted down with legal cases to git in the colorful sur roundings of mrs reichert's listening to a medical but highly entertaining dissertation on various medical de tails one thing we all learned if we overlooked or forgot all the rest and that is that if a man abstains from alcohol we should applaud him and avoid him the blackstone society wishes to take this opportunity of thanking mr horning it was a fin speech and so different to john allan and henry lenz members of the blackstone legal so ciety the organization extends heart iest congratulations upon their being tapped for honorary membership in the bison head society continued on page 2
