clubs to vie for i»rizes the annual stunt nite wil be held this evening in the norton auditorium beginning at 8:00 p.m this will be the first stunt nite held since he beginning of the war and its resumption is expected to attract a capacity crowd nearly all of the organiza tions on campus have signified that they will be participants all ideas of course have been kept a secret but many a laugh should be produced as an added incentive nor ton union is awarding prizes to those presenting the best skit in the three divisions sorority fraternity and clubs harry macwilliams is chair man of the affair and he and his committee have been work ing hard all week to insure stunt nite a successful re turn if you happen to be suffer ing from those medical exam or i wish spring would get here blues then come to norton tonight the motto of the committee is stunt nite tonight tomorrow alright king patrick to be crowned at tea dance tommy rizzo's kampus kids to play spike dabrowski to be the m c st patrick may not cele brate his birthday until mon day but u b lads and col leens are a jump ahead of him in honor of erin's great saint norton union is spon soring a tea dance from 3:30 tc 5:30 today the scene of festivities will be norton auditorium where tommy rizzo's kampus kids will be on hand to pay musical tribute to st pat at 4:15 a star-studded irish floor show will be presented featuring spike dabrowski as master of ceremonies eddie garrow and nancy selle to sing dancer t wilcox plus a few surprises not until 4:45 however will the celebration reach its climax with the crowning of king patrick — whose identity is os yet a mystery in addition to these attrac tions free refreshments will be available in the lobby th6 committee that has made possible this illustrious event is renata mittman chairman carol castle and sue fisher , decorations jsabelle taylor and nancy rice food nancy selle entertainment and fred and renata mittman posters micks and orangemen alike don your green dust off your t brogue and flock to norton j auditorium to dance a jig in honor of st patrick 1 junior prom committee at work chairman harry macwilliams and his staff make final plans for the annual junior prom to be held on march 22 left to right standing bob gaines harold beal ray myles gerry marx seat ed ruth wilgus harry macwilliams and nancy glancey students to elect managers board of norton union students are asked to bear in mind the importance of the offices with the coming election of the norton union board of managers for the 1947-48 season students are reminded of the responsibilities and du ties of the board students are asked to bear in mind the functions of the board when they are making their choices which are briefly given here under the direction of the board of governors the board of managers will determine matters of policy in the oper ation of the student union and other subsidiary organiza tions they will also supervise and control the execution of these policies by the proper officers committee and organ izations and finally they will administer and govern norton hall these are the qualities to help give you the opportunity to judge through your voting presentation of queen finalists held next week five judges will select queen on the eve of the junior prom well now that the voting for the prom queen has taken place and all the rush and publicity lapsed into obscurity the only need for satisfaction is to learn the outcome of the final judges decision although anxiety still reigns the dis play of charm and glamor has subsided into expectation and it is now up to those five robed and bespectacled judges last wednesday the east club room of norton union carried on a thrilling business v/ith the ballot boxes brimming with votes cast for a favorite candidate the candidates who were el igible were the following lib by rumsey betty fineberg carolyn lutz vilma lavetti lorraine hayes natalie fretts mary mazur and jane graser out of that bevy of irresistable feminine pulchritude five were chosen to be judged by an im vocational talk will be given on journalism topics such as news reporting and editing will be discussed the topic for next week's talk on vocational guidance will be journalism and will be presented by mr arthur gold berg editorial writer for the buffalo evening news the discussion will take place on thursday march 20th at 3:30 p.m in the east club room of norton union the proposed talk will be quite in formative to those interested in the field of journalism and also it will interest those who are concerned either with news paper work or advertising mr goldberg holds an m.a degree from the university of buffalo and is also u.b.'s al umni secretary while attend [ ing u b he majored in his i tory and government in his discussion mr gold , berg will cover the main fields ' of journalism and advertising topics included under these / headings are news reporting ' continued on page 7
