through the un tiring efforts of the cast committees and director leo jones their superb production of lillian hellman's anothor part of the forest is well worth the attention of students faculty and local playgoers alike this play a sardonic comedy takes place in the post-civil war period the setting is truly outstanding - in successfully creating the effect of the elaborate living room of a southern mansion of the civil war period the illusion of carbing in the woodwork and the rich appear ance of the furniture and proper ties cause a feeling of harmony throughout the play sally schillo's performance as beautiful regina hubbard deserves much attention her unusually beautiful costumes and her succesn in suggesting a southern drawl are gaining her muoh audience recog nition retina's ability to influence her father marcus hubbard played by ralph friedman prevails through out the plat marcus brutal frank ness in the first two acts exempli fies how it was possible for him to make the war an extremely profitable situation marcus hubbard-'s lack of under standing of his neurotic wife la vlnia ably played by orian ward does much in the molding of each of their characters her acting caused to audience to feel great pity for her certainly it is not difficult to imagine the plight of a wife and mother whose family has seemingly turned against her chris o'connor's forceful per formance as john bagtry keglna's somewhat bitter lover showed con siderable versatility his abrupt rhaiiki's ill character under various conditions add much to the play ben the elder son of the hub bard's is portrayed in a well shad ed manner by b murray little his strong character is evidenced i throughout the play in the role of ben's jroungw brother oscar harold litkind pives an excellent performance | his main thought in life seems to | be the fact that he is deeply and | sincerely in love with a frivolous young prostitute lutirette whose part is played by llla morris the confused character of llirdie bagtry a sister of heginu'h lover john is superbly portrayed by annual concert features three musical groups the 28th annual home concert to be staged on april 22 at 8:0
