a party for the sophomore nurses on oct 31 the affair was held in the card room at norton all of the gals came attired in their sit-on-the-floor clothes this evening was primarily put aside for a get-together for the nurses the party started at 7:00 p.m since it was hallowe'en they had the traditional cider doughnuts and sandwiches after eating they sang songs and gabbed as all wo men will when they get into a group they all had a wonderful time and many new friendships were formed they helped close norton at ten o'clock nurses are known for their char itable works so these body and soul healers fed the poor overworked spectrum staff the staff appre ciated it so much that they decided to run this article on the party and publicly thank all the junior florence nightingales omnibus gases up motor a pilgrim promenade tonight at 8:30 in norton auditorium will be the first social event sponsored by omni bus this affair will be open to all u b students and the success or failure of the organiza tion depends on the interest of stu dent response to it the program committee has planned a fun-packed evening hop ing to make everyone who attends feel at home the purpose of the pilgrim promenade is to acquaint all interested parties with the mem bers of omni bus and to give them some idea of how the organization functions there will be music for dancing games and refreshments at the fantastic fee of twenty-five cents the evening's highlight will be a treasure hunt the breathless winner of which will receive a prize for his sherlock-like efforts a live turkey might even be on hand to shake feet with those who enter the portals of ye olde norton aud you don't really have to come in pilgrim costumes but dun garees and indian blankets are sug gested due to weather beyond any one's control shoes are optional all students should take advan tage of this opportunity to partici pate in some form of social life and to widen their circle of friends at school an organization such as this has not appeared on the u b scene for some time and it offers limitless possibilities to any one with enthusiasm and a desire to make it grow until it becomes a must on campus those in omni bus are anxious to accomplish something with their baby brain storm but they need cooperation from all u b students so if you've got tonight free and are in the mood for a lot of fun and kickapoo juice better known to the elite as cider why not stop in at the auditorium at 8:30 the omni bus guarantees that you will want to come back again and again after the pilgrim promenade coming back to omnibus will reward the interested parties with all the activities the group can provide the provision of activi ties depends upon the noticeable enthusiasm remember the prom enade as a test and everyone turn out ub football with worthy foes await faculty whistle syracuse lehigh it seems that football at the university is not the dying calf that it has been pictured at least judging by next year's tentative schedule it seems like the bull is quite healthy of course by the end of the season it also appears it might be a little battered and bruised the blue and white open their season on september li)th or 20th syracuse university has signified willingness to play the bulls on i either date but a definite decision has not been made if syracuse is refused cortland will fill in noth ing against cortland but which would you rather see the next saturday would see ub traveling to connecticut for a game with the huskies the next three games would be at home and what games the red raiders of colgate would be first then would come lehigh univer sity hardly a pushover then the bisons of bucknell with what will be one of the strongest teams in the east without a doubt you won't find anything to complain about in that three week stretch i'm sure another new opponent western reserve comes next and the boys will journey for this one then back home against alfred and st law rence alfred has lost one game this year to us and who will forget st lawrence and that 13-7 licking they handed one of u.b.'s best teams three years ago last bul far from least would be boston university where harry agannis passed himself to fame these games are all subject to final approval by the faculty com mittee on athletics it certainly is a great schedule and a step in the right direction towards a well rounded athletic policy which is drastically needed a great deal of credit must be given to athletic director jim peellc who was and is instrumental in arranging these games we certainly hope that the faculty committee will approve the schedule as stated here if they are in favor of a farsighted well directed and sensible athletic pro gram they can do nothing else predeterminations are predetermined november — frosty mornings pumpkin pies sharp winds and — oh yes — politics . . . campaigns and speeches wednesday novem ber 6th and thursday november 7th were
