the community to the behavior of the repre sentatives of the three above named corporate entities and their agents as the buffalo evening news through a story carried by lee coppola which at tempts to convey to readers that by admitting contractor walter jones to bail on january 25 1979 after she was sworn into office that she had some how broken some ethical rule in a conversation with judge sims she said when i first was sworn into office i read the ethical rules for judges very carefully and over and over i knew there was a rule which said that a judge shouldn't preside over i case when he had acted as a lawyer for om of the parties in that very same case but there was no rule mat i could linu anywhere that said that you couldn't admit a person to bail merely because some where in the past you'd represented the person in a completely different matter judge sims said the article was just the begin ning of a nightmare which really surprised me and angered me because of the boldness of the perpetra tors the fact that many of them were and are judges and lawyers really made me furious judge sims is writing about that experience but she also filed suit in the united states district court to have her right to hold public office after being elected vindicated along with some of the or ganizations of people who voted for her the lawsuit against each defendant has been brought on several grounds when a defen dant has moved to dismiss any part of a cause of action on any unlikely ground which may have been granted by the court the defendants have at tempted to convey the idea
