to intro duce the new national black talent directory this directory is a compre hensive source reference of blck professionals who are active in every phase of the entertainment in dustry formatted to carry headshots agent mana ger information and union affiliation the first annual edition will be published in june of this year who can be listed in the directory anyone who performs in front of housing opportuni ties made equal will com memorate a quarter cen tury of fair housing advo cacy with a silver anniver sary dinner at the buffalo museum of science nearly 250 members dim supporters are expect ed to hear a keynote address by dr james l hecht a former buffalo resident and author of the book because it is right a chronical of the early years of the fair housing movement in the buffalo area residents to hear about agency to end violence buffalo area residents will learn about the state plan to end violence in our society from experts who will speak at the gethsem ane baptist church on sat mar 26th representatives of the new york state martin luther king jr commis sion will be at the church to talk about efforts to establish a new york state institute for non-violence harry belafonte chair man of the commission calls the effort absolutely essential we must once again take up the lessons that martin luther king jr taught us and learn to resolve our differences non-violently or perish in the waves of violence that must surely overtake us if we continue to ignore these trends that are on the rise in our country mr belafonte stated the king commission had determined that there was a need for an institute for non-violence after spending a year studying the matter and working with two experts on dr king's methods late last year commission chair man belafonte presented the idea to governor cuomo who included it in his state-of-the-state mes republican leaders back bush in presidential race the results of super tuesday vividly under score what we have believed to be the reality of the 1988 presidential campaign george bush will be the nominee of the republican party de clared former new york state assemblywoman carol a siwek and cheek towaga republican town chairman valeric a leuthe who are co-coor dinators of the bush for president campaign in the 33rd congressional district we are proud to have supported vice president bush by circulating and filing the greatest number of signatures on petitions of all the republican presi dential candidates in the district mrs siwek stated the recent action by the erie county board of elections rejecting the pe titions filed for senator robert dole for president due to insufficient signa tures indicates that george bush has the most support here in erie county mrs leuthe stressed the positive and en thusiastic response for george bush that we re ceived during our success ful petition drive coincides with the results on super tuesday and throughout the nation mrs siwek said congressman jack kemp has withdrawn from the presidential race as delegates to the republi can national convention in new orleans we plan to launch a kemp for vice president campaign which could propel wny's congressman onto the national ticket the election of a bush-kemp ticket will open the doors of the white house to erie county mrs siwek stated in addition to their support tor kemp for
