pastor officiated linda was the daughter of mrs nannie mac and larry little she was bom on sept 18th 1956 in buffalo she graduated from east high school in 1974 and was also a graduate of sawyer's business school linda passed away on friday dec 12 1986 her survivors are her daughter gina marie arm stead little her mother mrs nannie mac little her father larry little sr three sisters larice vema and andrea little two brothers larry little jr and frank cadera and many other relatives and friends the buffalo memorial chapels inc were in charge of the remains interment was in elmlawn cemetery linda renae little rutkowski announces grant to aid small businesses in waste mgt erie county is being granted a 60,000 grant to help small businesses re duce their costs in dispos ing of hazardous waste materials it was announ ced thursday by county executive edward j rut kowski the united states en vironmental protection agency epa selected the county's proposed pro gram to help 2400 local small businesses and municipalities implement alternatives to waste dis posal as well as assist them in complying with new state and federal regulations according to rutkowski businesses will save money by reducing waste quantities through re use or recycling and by understanding environ mental laws governing dis posal the cost of hazardous waste management can be , significantly reduce j through the proper plan ning and evaluation offer ed by this new program rutkowski said staff of the county's en vironmental compliance services program will work with local business es trade associations and professional organizations to develop economical approaches such as sub stituting non-hazardous materials in production improving operational effi ciency and exchanging wastes between com panies for use as raw materials a helpline will be established and on-site consultations will be pro vided throughout erie county businesses such as print shops dry cleaners con struction vehicle main tenance and photography shops are regulated by the epa and the nys dept of environmental conservation more information on the program can be obtained by calling the county's dept of environment and planning at 846-6370 the buffalo chapter of girl friends inc has been a strong supporter of the united negro college fund for the past ten years not only is uncf of great interest to the local chapter but it is also a national project during this period the local chapter has raised 27,000 for uncf this was possible due to the public's support this year the buffalo chapter of girl friends inc is sponsoring a mail-a-thon for the 1986 imf telethon they ask you to send your uncf donations in which are tax deductable each donation will help to keep the doors open for 43 participating that time is a terrible thing to waste has been using his extra hours lately to promote the united negro fund the washington-based journalist himself is a product of an uncf school knoxville college 70 and at a time when more and more blacks are extolling the virtues of in tegrated colleges curry has been reminding any one who will listen that black colleges have played and continue to play a unique and valuable role in national and world affairs what most people overlook is that most black students attend predomin ately white universities but the black colleges graduate a disproportion ate number of blacks curry said what this proves is that many blacks who attend black colleges end up graduating while many who attend white universities end up quit uating " historically black col leges enroll only about 18 percent of all black col lege students yet grant about 38 percent of all degrees awarded to blacks born in tuscalloosa alabama curry is the oldest of four children his
