Description	A History of the Town of Amherst, N.Y., 1818-1965, was published by the Town of Amherst in 1965 and written by the Town Clerk and Town Historian, Sue Miller Young. A descendent of some of Amherst’s oldest families, Mrs. Young was one of the founding members of the Williamsville Historical Society and an accomplished archer. This book, the first book-length definitive history of the Town of Amherst, has been out of print for quite some time and is therefore in frequent demand by local historians and genealogists.
