Ron Stoddard from Fuccillo Automotive Group, along with Fuccillo attorney Bob Scalione, led an informative presentation to the likes of Supervisor Peter McMahon, members of the town board and key representatives from the environmental technology and architectural planning groups affiliated with the Fuccillo construction plans. The proposal includes the development of a new Toyota dealership, to be completed in 2004, and the transformation of the Chevrolet building into a Hyundai dealership, to be completed next year. The addition of a Mitsubishi dealer, as well as the possibility of an Audi store, which has not been confirmed yet, are plans in thematengs- Concerns from the Town Stoddard presented the group with the finalized construction plans, then opened up the floor for questions, in hopes to clarify any major concerns from town officials. Preservation of the wetlands surrounding the Fuccillo building were of major interest to the town engineer, the zoning inspector and the code enforcement officer. Additional construction on the Fuccillo site has to take into consideration the protected wetlands that exist along Alvin Road. Fuccillo has hired William Schutz -ras -the landscaping architect»andengineer, and Don Wilson from Wilson Environmental Technologies to work with the core of engineers to ensure that all regulations are adhered to. A survey of the wetlands is, currently in the process, which will provide Fuccillo, as well as the town, an actual map of the wetland locations to determine where they can and cannot configure the land, as well as the proper drainage and sewer configurations. Fortunately for the residents of Grand Island, Billy Fuccillo is very keen on preserving the natural wildlife along Alvin Road. The construction sites will provide proper drainage from the wetlands, while keeping the natural environment intact. The idea of an "autopark" includes plans for a landscaped area near the front entrance of the facility, fully arranged with picnic tables and a cluster of trees. An additional concern for the town is the increased traffic that will flow down Alvin Road, and whether or not the current road is structured for excessive wear and tear. Scalione offered the possibility of reconstructing the road to prepare for the added weight and increased traffic.
