Woolson Calling aboard all boating enthusiasts with a taste for nostalgia. Here's one geared just for you. The Niagara Frontier Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society will be holding its 27th annual boat show on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Buffalo Launch Club, 503 East River Road. The event will begin at 10 a.m, and continues until 4:30 p.m. There is a parking fee, but admission is free. Appropriately themed "Shuffle off to Buffalo," this one will feature something for everyone including boat races, classic and antique boats on display, as well as a chance to meet and talk with boating enthusiasts from many areas of the country. The docks and basin at the Buffalo Launch Club will be filled with more than 100 vessels owned by Antique and Classic Boat Society members. These show participants take great pride in their sport, and love to show off their hard work. Project Alert was lust established four years ago to remind drivers that school would be resuming and i it would be necessary to watch for stopped school buses and children crossing the street. After sponsoring Project Alert on Grand Isiand, Brown has expanded the project to include other communities m his Senate district including the cities of Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Tonawanda. "Safety of our children is of paramount importance, and ! am pleased to use this occasion to remind all our citizens of our duty to watch out lor our kids as they return to school,' Brown said. The state Department ol Transportation also donated a sign at the corner of Whitehaven and Baseline to remind residents that school will be starting Sept. 8. Grand Island Physical Therapy presents MOG by Robin M. Woolson By Thanksgiving, Grand Island Physical Therapy's new location at 1801 Grand Island Blvd., will be open and serving the residents of the Island. Grand Island resident and owner Russell Certo said that when he came back in the late 1980s and started his own practice, he had a vision to incorporate physical therapy, a health club and even a family practitioner in one location. And that vision will soon become a reality."This is something that is needed," Certo said. "In almost every community there is a family practitioner, a physical therapy location and a health club. This will have all of them grouped together in one location." The MOG is the medically oriented gym, and bases all of its services on medically accepted research and protocols. Certo said the staff at Grand Island Physical Therapy will have degrees in exercise physiology. "With having 25 years of experience in this profession, this has been a vision," Certo said. He said these type of facilities are all over the West Coast. Certo said that there will be a limited number of membership for the gym portion of the facility. Country Club "It will be more like a country club feel," he explained. "People can come in and use the gym. It won't just be for physical therapy." He said that visitors to the facility will not have to be referred to the agency by doctors. "It will be a full-fledged open to the public health club," Certo said. "But it is associated with physical therapy. People who come to the health club don't even have to come into the therapy side." Certo is looking forward to the completed construction of 11,000 square foot facility, but added the rainy weather the region has seen this summer has put the work behind schedule. "We are about a week behind," he said.
