Photo by B-rbl I an Town Board Approves Site Plans For Doolies & KOA THERE will be a lent on the patio of Doolies Restaurant this summer. The Town Board Monday approved a site plan amendment which will allow the outdoor eating facility at 2261 Grand Island Boulevard providing it meets all safety conditions outlined in the State Code for such use. The board also okayed the final plat plan for Section 4A of the Ransom Village subdivision. It involves the addition of 36 lots to the development. A revised site plan for the KOA Campgrounds on Grand Island Boulevard also won town board approval. It calls for constructing log cabins for campers use on the site as well as additional landscaping. KOA was also granted removal of its special use permit to allow operation of the camping grounds in accordance with town rules. The Town Board also: • Approved installation of a public telephone in the town Nike Base Park on Whitehaven Rd. • Referred to Town Attorney William Wiles the matter of demolishing unsafe buildings on Glen Avon Rd. • Created the position of parttime building inspector and approved hiring John Henderson for the position, and approved promoting Henry Ehde to Head Dog Control Officer. • Referred to the Planning Board the Horizon Waterfront Commission Action Plan encompassing the waterfront in the entire area. rnecrmrCnra presented by Councilman Gail Lazenby, i.e. the purchase of safety vests for the town's police force; and agreed to order Tailamy Van Burcn Gertz Associates to proceed with Phase 2 of the town's sewer replacement program, resulting in the installation of 3600 feet of sewer line on Bishop's Gate, Sturbridge, Foxcroft and Ransom Roads and Warner Drive. MliX GI Youths Arrested For Endangering Children SHERIFF Thomas P. Higgins announces the arrest of two Grand Island youths on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, unlawfully dealing with a child and obstructing governmental administration. William Gormady, age 17, of Hennepin Avenue and William Wood, age 16, of Stony Point Rd. were arrested by Detective James Hatch of the family offense unit and Deputies Robert Hondzinski and Terrancc Gucnot after allegedly serving alcoholic beverages to four girls ages 10 to 14 during an allnight party at Wood's house on June 13-14. The girls had been reported missing from Niagara Falls by their parents and when Sheriff Deputies checked the Wood residence for the girls about 3 A.M. they were allegedly hidden in a locked bedroom by Gormady and Wood. Both were arraigned in Grand Island Court by Judge Reiman and committed to the Erie County Holding Center on $500 bail. River Oaks Trial Continues GRAND Island officials for a third week are continuing to be heard in U.S. District Court in defense of charges placed against the town by River Oaks Marine, Inc. At stake is more than a million dollars which marina owners claim was lost in profits when the town refused to allow them to sell and truck soil off the Island when canals into the facility were being "It appears that the seven man jury will go into deliberation later this week," a town official said Wednesday.
