"Prior to the renovation, test results showed that the soil conditions in the Quad were very poor to sustain healthy tree growth. There was excessive soil compaction and lack of nutrients, which is not too surprising considering the area of the Quad once served as a parking lot and an athletic field." "The work to improve the drainage in the Quad also required the digging of several trenches, which would have disturbed the tree roots and only accelerated the decline of the trees," Franz said. New flowerbeds were put in along with in-ground hose bibs, which, according to a press release from the College's office of public relations, will for Business and Finance, Dr. Laurence W. Franz, said he is confident the"campus community is going to be very impressed" with the newly improved Quad, and pointed out the value of the project for Canisius and adding the last phases of the Delavan Townhouses. As students clearly saw upon their return to campus both projects were completed (on schedule). Many changes were made to Canisius students lose friend, teammate See Quad page 2 renewed Oishei By M.
