In other years this daiKc had been held outside of the city and no great importaiKe had been attached to the ¦ aftair. lliis year, however, t'ne Sen¬ ior Class has determined to make the daiicc as important to Cantsius as any social cvau to be held ail year. The \ lirsi step in the realization 01 this end | is the Selection of a downtown hotel f as the Icication. Secondly, the best I music available has been provided, f lliirdly, the txx is rcasoruble enough to Ht the most humble purse.

llie Reverend J. Clayton Murray, S.J., Student Counsellor in his open¬ ing address at the First Friday Mass. annouiKed his plans for a spiritual camjuign. "Father Hayes, your Sodality moderator is seeking to in¬ spire a love for Mary in your hearts; 1 have taken it as my work to lead you on from Mar)- to Jesas. through a de\otic«i to the Sacred Heart, the symbol of Christ's love for us."
Why?
The purpose of this devotioti to the Sacsed Heart, Father .Murray s^iid. was to nuke anxiids for all the insults and indiijnities that we have heai?ed u(x>n Jesus, '"We have all been traitors to Christ: we have shown Him the basest kit/d of ingratitude." Freviueni Conununion.s and an un¬ swerving: devotion to the Sacred Heart were, he jxiinted out, the best means of reparation. "I wish every¬ one," he said, "would firmly restilve to tuake the nine Fridays during the coming year." In conclusion he re¬ marked that he would like to see far more of the student body making use of St. Feter Canisius Cha^vl.
