In the race for Chairman of Campus Programming Board, Keith O'Donnell '87 outdistanced Cindy Jelleme '88 to take that office. "I'm very excited about the prospect of working with these people," Greco stated. 'The nucleus is excellent on the board and in the senate." Greco also felt that a lot would be accomplished with the new members of the USA. "I was glad to get a vote of confidence from the school to accomplish what needs to be done," Greco said. Greco didn't think that the race would be as close as it was, and was also glad that the elections were over. Koessler Reseeding Delayed Due to 'Oversight' A planned reseeding project for the Koessler field, supposedly scheduled to begin last Saturday, has been delayed until the end of the semester after members of the athletic teams that currently use the field protested that they were not previously informed of any such maintenance work that was to start during the season. by Kevin Saville However, lacrosse coach Joe Holt, S.J., told The Griffin Tuesday that he had received no advanced notification that the reseeding was to begin onlhe 19th. Holt said that he became aware of the plans last Friday, after two of his players discovered the field only half-prepared "We have decided to delay the reseeding to May 3 because of the great difficulty in rescheduling the lacrosse games," said Franz. The lacrosse team has four remaining home games. The reseeding, which would have prevented use of the field for lacrosse games, women's softball practice and the school's intramural program, has been delayed to May 3, according to Dr. Laurence W. Franz, vice president for business and finance and College treasurer. The following Monday however, Holt received a call from Lillian M. Levey, vice president for student affairs, saying that the reseeding would be delayed and that the lacrosse team could finish their remaining home games on the field. Later the same day, Holt received another call from Bieron; who this time was calling from Franz's office. Bieron informed Holt that the team had been granted access to the field for the next day's game only, and they would not be permitted to finish their home schedule on the field. Before calling maintenance, Holt phoned Paul Bieron, director of the Koessler Athletic Center, who was not in at the moment. Bieron called back later, saying that he too had no warning of the impending project. "They said that they got word from Dr. Franz and that there was nothing they could do about it," said Holt. for Saturday's game against Niagara. A subsequent phone call to the maintenance department informed Holt that reseeding was to begin on Saturday morning. The lacrosse team, as well as women's Softball and the intramural program, will be able to utilize the Koessler Athletic field for the remainder of the semester now that the reseeding has been delayed Until May 3.
