Saturday, June 8th, at 10 A. M. The candidates for the degrees will. march in procession from the college^ to the church where a Solemn High .Mass will be sung for their intention. The Rev. Henry B. Laudenbach, '95, Pastor of St. LouK parish and dis¬ tinguished alumnus of Canisius- Col¬ lege, will deliver the Baccalaureate Sermon.
The folloiWng day, Sunday after¬ noon, the Re\\ James P. Sweeney, S. J., Rector of Canbius College, will confer degrees upon the candidates who have satisfied the college require¬ ments. Among the candidates for graduation arc ten graduate students, some ninety-five senior men of the Class of 1935 and some thirty stu¬ dents from the extension courses, given on Saturday morning and evenings.
The Hon. Frank P. Graves, PhJD., L.H.D., LL-D., President of the L"niversfty of the State of New York and Commissioner of Education, will deliver the .Address to the Graduates I and will be awarded the Honorary j [>grte of Doctor of Letters in recog¬ nition for the services to education. Father Laudenbach who this year celebrates his Fortieth Anniversary as graduate of Canisius will be honored with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Lau-s as a recognition for his achievements during his distinguished career of service to the Church, school and countrv.

Cnder the energetic and capable direction of the Rev. Earle Carpenter, S. J., chaimun, two more meetings Of the V"otj Ketteler Society have been held, on .May 7th and .May 14th, both of them featured by lively dis- ciESsion of the econoutic problems which it is the purpose of the society to vtudy. 'Yhc society was honored, at the first of these meetings, by the presence of the Rev. James P. Sweeney, president of Catiisius Col¬ lege, who expressed his hearty ap¬ proval ol the undertaking and urged the members to be siiKere and zealous in their efforts to secure the establtsh- luent of social justice.
In accordaiure with the policy of the society, papers were read at the first fueeting by Mr. William V. Conroy who spoke on "Mercantilism", by .Mr. Roche who discussed "live Effects of the Refomiation Upon the Rise ol Capitalsm", and by Mr, Simon J. Nash who described the "Industrial Revolution and the Rise : of the Factory System", At the sec¬
ond meeting, papers were read by .Mr. Thomas P. Browne on the "Rise of the I^bor Movement", by Mr. \\'illert J. Klass on "The Problem of Wages", and by Mr. Siitioa J. Nash who gave a sunmury of the life and works of Bishop von Ketteler, the patrofi of the societ)'. One more meeting, tentatively scheduled for June 4th, will be held before the so¬ ciety adjourns for the sutmner.
In his paper on "Mercantilism", Mr. Conroy described the origin of the economic heresy which asserts that abundant supplies of gold and silver are the cause of prosperity and that a favorable trade balance is a necessary condition for the existence of pros¬ perity. Said Mr. Conroy, "A tre¬ mendous currency inflation occurred in Spain during the sixteenth century as a result of enormous importations of gold and silver from the New World.
