On Tuesday another call was made to WMJQ FM "Without so much as getting a code number from anyone, they put the announcement on the air," said Neuner. According to Neuner, the College receives code numbers from local stations which are used as identification numbers when snow days are called in. The codes are kept locked up, and access is very limited. "We didn't call off school," said Dr. Jerome L. Neuner, acting vice president for Academic Affairs, "yet at about 9 a.m. there were announcements [on the radio] that Canisius College was closed." Announcements were made on WBEN and WEBR on Monday. Several prank telephone calls were made to local radio stations, claiming that there were snow holidays for Canisius on Monday and Tuesday. She also mentioned that the plan can help ease the housing shortage that Canisius is currently experiencing.
