This will bring full-time undergraduate tuition up to $9950. This is an increase of 8.15 percent over tuition for 1992-93. Part-time tuition for students who take more than six credit hours' worth of classes will increase 25.43 percent to $291 per credit hour from $232 per credit hour. Part-time tuition for students who take six credit hours or less will increase 8.15 percent to $251 per credit hour, also up from $232 per credit hour. "Tuition in Graduate Education is raised $40 to $290 per credit hour," according to Franz. This is an increase of 16 percent. The tuition for the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and the Masters in Public Administration "It is basically a break-even budget," commented Dr. Laurence W. Franz, vice president for Business and Finance and College Treasurer, about the College's proposed Fiscal Year 1993-94 budget. The proposed budget will not put the College in a deficit situation. The budget will be recommended by the Finance and Budget Committee of the Board of Trustees to the full Board of Trustees for approval on Feb. 8. $140 to $2540, a 5.8 percent increase. The cost of meal plan B (lunch and dinner) is going up 5.6 percent, or $100, to $1900. The dinner and weekend plan (Plan C) is going up $100, or 5 percent, to (MPA) programs will increase $33 to $375 per credit hour. This will be up from this year's $342 per credit hour and 9.65 percent increase. Room and board will also go up for next year. Rates for Bosch, Frisch and Campion Halls will increase from $2500 to $2700, a growth of eight percent. The rate for Main-Humboldt, Main-Delavan and Griffin Hall will increase $250 to $3100. This is an additional nine percent. Board rates will grow any where from $40 to $140, according to Franz. The full meal plan (Plan A) will rise in price an additional Oops! A shot paragraph stating why you wish to be the student speaker must be included along with your name, address, telephone number, major, grade point average, and a list of the on and off campus extracurricular activities you have participated in during your college career. The student body will soon get a chance to let the Undergraduate Student Association (USA) know exactly what they want it to do with regard to the smoking status of the Propis Old Main lounge. The USA has decided to put the issue of whether to change the lounge to an entirely smoke- free environment and devote another location entirely to a smoking lounge to a student body wide referendum. The referendum is non-binding upon the USA and Canisius. Voting will occur on Wednesday, February 10, in the Student Center lobby from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., or from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the basement of Old Main. All students are encouraged to vote on this issue. The referendum is non-binding, but as USA referendum committee chair Kate Sellers stated, the result of student voting will weigh heavily upon the senators' votes on this issue.
