'Ilse annual Senior farewell dinner- dance will be held at the Trap and Field Club on the evening ol June 1st. 'I'hb dance, as usual, will be strictly cl&scd and present indications seens to guarantee the preserKe of the nujoirily ot the Seniors at the shoot club ofi that night. Sp<vial favors in the fonn of white carnations were presenietl to the men in altendaiKe at the affair and this novel idea caught the fancy of the
Canisius College will close its sixty fifth year with the annual Commence¬ ment E.xerciscs on Saturday and Sun¬ day, June 6 and 7. The Baccalau¬ reate services will be held at St. I Vincent's church at 10 o'clock on Sat¬ urday morning. A luncheon will follow these exercises at which the Faculty will be the hosts to the class of 1936 and all Canisius graduates who will attend. On Sunday, June 7. the CommerKement Exercises will be conduaed at the Elmwood Music Hall at three o'clock in the afternoon.
The Baccalaureate w'll begin at Canisius College on Saturday morn¬ ing. The graduates wnll assemble wearing caps and gowns and with the Faculty will march in procession to St. \'incent's Church where a solemn high mass will be sung at 10 a. m. V'eni- Rev. John A. Weismantel, V. F. .-V. B. 1902 will be the celebrant. Rev. Nelson W. Logal. A. B. 1931 and Rev. Walter L. Hatch. A. B. 1931 will be Deacon and Subdeacon. Rev. William E. Gardiner, A. B. 1931 wai be the .Master of Cere¬ monies.
The Baccalaureate sermon will be preached by the Rev. .Anthony J. Bfeicher. S. J., Socius to the Very Rev. Fr. Provincial of the Maryland- .\'ew ^'ork Province of the Society of Jesus. Fr. Bleicher, before entering the Society of Jcsus» was a member of the Cla^s of 1916. At the con¬ clusion of the ceremonies in St. Vin¬ cent's Church, the procession will again fonn and make its way back to the college. Here the graduates will I be guests at a luiKheon in the college rill
On the ne.vt day, Sunday. June 7,
the CoiumetKement Exercises will
take place at the EIntwood Music
Hall, on the corner of Virgiiiia and
Elmwood. at 3 p. m. The exercises
will Ix'gin with the procession of the
Faculty and graduates in academic
cap and gown. The Rev. James P.
Sweeney, S.. J., President of Canisius
College, will confer the degrees upon
the members of the graduating class.
The award of honors will follow. At
the Commencement, honors will be
conferred on members of the Class of
1936.
