Familiar Landmark Soon to House Business and Social Studies
With the opening date for the Delavan building .set tentatively for the middle of Xovemher, nece.ssary alteration.s there are being m.shed to meet the deadline. The struc¬ ture, whieh \va.s formerly Si.sters Hospital, has long heen a Buffalo landmark, and was pureha.sed last spring hy. the college for an undiselo.sed sum, to accommodate the rec¬ ord enrollment of veterans seeking an education at the Main street buildings. Fresh¬ men and Sophomore Husine.ss and Social Studies will have cla.s.ses there, according to present plans.
Father William McLoughlin, S.J., recently appointed head of the new college building has announced that the building will he a complete educational plant in it.self. Its physical makeup will incluile 1.5 cla.ssrooms, completely equipped, a cafeteria for JIOO and library and research facilities.
While the main oflices of all academic departments and extracurricular activities wfll remain on the eampu.s, all will have extension olfices in the annex. Other features will include di.scu.ssion rooms, debate halls and .seminar rixims. The outstanding feature will Im: a Little Theatre equipped with the most modeni apparatus for the study and practice of the drama.

It was decided further that regular Sodal it) meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings at 7:45, kgitming September 30. The So¬ dality- wdl recite one decade of the Rosary twice each day during Octokr at the altar behind the Science Building at 8:35 A.M. and 12:45 P.M. Weather not permit¬ ting outdoor exercises, they will k held in the auditorium during the same hours.

With over six hundred new- stu- utnts to choose from, this year's Freshman debating team can be one of the outstaning organizations in tk College. .Among the many new- plans of Moderator Mr. Sicvers, S.J., are those that will pattern the organization after the Senior Aca¬ demia. Ever)- opportunity will k provided for each member to be¬ come adept in public spca.king and debate.
Debating within the group will predominate as the most frecjuent activity, although other debates with fival school teams xtc king plan¬ ned.
Application blanks have ken placed in the library and tryouts will k given to ill applicants. Those who are successful in the try- outs will then k notified by mail as to the time and place of future meetings.
