f storey of the times in regard to the attack upon him by membenof tha lydia thompeon tronpe my wife called at the tim office about 3 o'clock yeaterday afternoon and we itarted for my residence on wabash aveoae when near park court i aaw a man and woman go around the corner and approach a car riage which wu standing m front ef a houm two or three doon from mine when opposite the carnage the man whom i sup pose v henderson stepped up in front of me and said i this mr storey i replied yes " he then stepped back and the woman approached with a whip in her hand she struck me i think on the shoulders 1 did not feel th blows as i had my over coat on i concluded that it was the in tention to have me whipped by the woman and to avoid it i caught the woman by the throat and took the whip from her hen derson then came up and struck mo on the forehead with the butt end of a large cow hide i took it away from him when he drew a revolver he retreated some dis tance when two other men grabbed me from l>ehind and palled my hair yuite a crowd had oollected by this time and alexander and several other gentlemen cut henderson and two of the women lydia thompson and pauline markhun i
