On the front: State of New York Canal Department October 26th 1864. Loan for the Enlargement of the Erie, the Oswego, the Cayuga and Seneca Canals. No. 1060__$2500__The Completion of the Black River and Genesee Valley Canals and the Enlargement of the Locks of the Champlain Canal. Be it know that the People of the State of New York. Give to William L. Learned trustee for Mary M. Learned or his Assign the sum of Two thousand five hundred Dollars bearing Interest at the rate of six percent per annum from the first day of October 1864 payable quarter yearly on the first days of the months of January, April July and October being stock created in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of New York passed April 9th 1856. The principal of said stock is reimbursable on the first day of October One thousand eight hundred and seventy four. Said stock is transferable at the Transfer Office in the City of New York according to the Rules prescribed for that purpose.
