About this collection

The library began life in 1905 as a free association library--the Geneva Free Library--with the leadership and support of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Our mission is to provide reliable information to visitors and residents of all ages in a prompt manner and in all formats and media. The library houses a physical collection of Geneva and Ontario County local history and genealogy resources, all of which are available for public use within the library. In addition, the library offers free research assistance for patrons of all Pioneer Library System libraries and flexible fee based assistance for those outside of those areas. Geneva Public Library Digital Collection

The Geneva Public Library Digital Collection is a collection of over 100 photographs related to historical Geneva. Photographs of historical buildings, streets, events, and people are included. Several photographs were taken from the beloved journalist and photographer of the Geneva Times, P.B. Oakley.

 

Geneva City Directories

The Geneva City Directories collection includes directories from 1862-2000. The directories contain an alphabetical directory, including a telephone directory of all residents over 18 (when available). Directories also include detailed information concerning each a civic section of local interest, a complete buyers' guide and classified business directory with special listings for nationally advertised brands. In some directories, a street guide and householders' directory showing telephone numbers arranged by streets is included.
