Founded in 1928 in New York City, the Rudolf Steiner Library is the national research and lending library of the Anthroposophical Society in America. Library holdings include all works by Rudolf Steiner in both the original German and in English translation; works by other authors on anthroposophy and its practical applications, such as Waldorf education, biodynamic agriculture, eurythmy, anthroposophical medicine, and curative education; and, works of Western spirituality, the arts, and sciences.
The library is located 1/4 mile northeast of the intersection of County Routes 21 & 21C in the village of Harlemville, NY, and is open to the public Wednesday - Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm. To borrow books, a patron must be a member of the Anthroposophical Society in America, or join the library as an independent member.
Our digital collection includes materials from the library's holdings related to the work of Rudolf Steiner and the Anthroposophical Society in America, and consists primarily of textual materials with some photographs.
