Shape Up and Ship Out
Comments by Sheila Dwyer
One tetanus, three typhoid, one smallpox and the able
needles of Mrs. Manley, R.N., equal one health certification
for one trip to Europe. D·Day (departure) is little more than
a month away (June 10). People tell me that hal! the fun of
the trip is in the preparation ... Well, at the least, it's time
consuming. Trying to budget time-and let's not forget
money!-is a difficult task. I forget, or rather try hard to,
that I have two papers due in two weeks, and that exams are
less than a month away.
Unlike many o( the girls who trudged down to East
Main St. 10 a little hole in the wall "photographer's studio,"
some of us were lucky enough to have Judy Boldish, a Juruor
art major. take our passport pictures. Of course we're counting
on Judy to add a few (?) Oattering touches here and there.
The number of little things we need is amazing. Did
you ever think of buying ten pairs of stockings at one time,
40 "Wash 'n' Dri" packets, or ten plastic bottles and jars
for all those odds and ends? Then again, bow does one learn
to talk like a sophisticated practiced traveler? I don't know
bow from stern. Right now I'm concentrating on referring to
the S.S. Queen Mary as n ship and not a boat.
Such nrc the "problems" facing 35 Nazareth gi.rls. But
since we are well known for our intellectual capacities, I'm
sure we'll take our difficulties in stride.
